Ministry of Nairobi Metropolitan Development

The Minister for Nairobi Metropolitan Development Hon. Njeru Githae, has blamed his Ministry’s slow implementation of its mandate due to the fact that the Ministry is not fully anchored into law. Githae said the current Local Government Act Cap 265, which give the Local Government Ministry the sole mandate over all local authorities was an impediment to his Ministry’s functions.

Following an order from the Ministry of Nairobi Metropolitan Development, Metz Aerials has delivered an L56 aerial ladder to the Nairobi City Council Fire Department in Kenya. Together with several Rosenbauer pumper trucks, this customized piece of equipment forms an integral part of the “Nairobi Growth and Development Strategy” that has been drawn up for the booming Kenyan capital.

The aerial has an integrated elevator for three persons, which facilitates an extremely short rescue cycle during emergency operations.

The Ministry of Nairobi Metropolitan Development has undertaken short term interventions to implement one of the key results areas; that of ensuring a safe, secure and prosperous Nairobi Metropolitan Region through sustained reduction in crime and other adverse incidences including mitigating against disasters.
